My Favorite Teacher:

Marital Status / My Spouse:

Consigny - NHS '90.
My Children:
None
My Job:
Support Engineer.
My Bio:
I was unable to join the military
(medically disqualified - Asthma), so I decided to go to FSU
and study Electrical Engineering.
I ran a computer business in school
to help pay the bills. After graduating I got hired by Sverdrup
Technology, in FWB as a software engineer. I tried to get
more into electrical engineering, but always found myself
doing computer work (programming and network admin).
In '97 I decided to go to work for
an Internet company in Destin (the week before we closed on
our home). I worked there for 9 months, but didn't see any
future with that company, so I went back to work for Sverdrup.
I worked there for another year, until I finally got to do
the engineering work that I thought I wanted to do. After
one week of it, I came to terms with the fact that I was a
computer geek. Shortly thereafter I interviewed with and accepted
a postition at Microsoft, supporting their Internet Server
products.
Finest thing that has happened: Going
to work for Microsoft...I get paid to learn new things everyday,
solve problems, and help people. That would have to be the
finest "thing," but my life, since graduating from High School,
has been very happy because I've been able to go through it
with my best friend: my wife Elaine.
Worst thing that has happened: Student
Loans!!!
Words of Wisdom: If you're interested
in working in the IT industry...don't waste time (and money)
in college. Everything I know about computers I learned while
blowing off my classes and homework. All I got from college
was a piece of paper, $60k worth of loans, and a five year
delay on my career.
