My Bio:
Well...I went to Georgia Tech, majoring
in Electrical Engineering. I "got out" (as we jokingly call
it) in 1995 and began working full time with my co-op employer,
the Dept of Defense in Maryland. I was fortunate to find exactly
what I wanted, a job that had a lot of travel. Ive been to
twenty-four countries so far and I have no desire to slow
down.
I've always had an interest in Civil
War history and living here has given me a great opportunity
to see all the historical sights, in addition to all the standard
touristy stuff that DC has to offer. I earned my private pilot's
license about two years ago. I think its tremendous (but expensive!)
fun. If you've ever thought about flying, definitely go for
it!
Finest thing that has happened:
A little over a year ago, I went on a cross-country flying
trip
with a good friend of mine from college who is also a pilot.
We flew his 1967 Cessna 150 from Georgia, to Ohio, to South
Dakota, back to Georgia. It gave me a real sense of how
(1)
unbelievably humongous Our Country really is, (2) what an
unbelievably huge amount of it is totally devoid of human
habitation, and (3) how really, really crowded the metro-D.C
/ Maryland area is.
Words of wisdom: The single most
striking thing I have seen in my travels is that people
are
a lot more the same than they are different.
